World Series Final Game Draws Over 50 Million Viewers Across the United States, Canada and Japan Regions.

The exciting extended clash where the Dodgers defeat the Blue Jays by one run averaged a total 51 million watchers across the United States, Canadian, and Japanese territories. Major League Baseball announced this represents the most-watched World Series Game 7 since the 1991 showdown between the Twins and Atlanta Braves.

Broadcast Ratings Details

Last Saturday’s epic game averaged over 27 million viewers on Fox networks, Fox Deportes and their streaming platforms. According to Nielsen, it was the second most-watched program of the week.

It additionally stands as the top-rated Fall Classic game since the 2017 Game 7 involving the Los Angeles Dodgers and Astros, which drew 29.07M. This represents a sixteen percent improvement over the last finale featuring the Nationals and Astros, which attracted 23.19 million.

In the weekly rankings, Game 6 placed 4th, the fourth game was seventh, the fifth game was 8th, and Game 3 finished in 13th position.

International Viewership Numbers

In Canada, the game recorded over 11 million watchers on Sportsnet and the French-language TVA Sports. This made it the highest-rated English program in Canada after the 2010 edition Vancouver Winter Olympics.

In Japan, where the deciding game began at 9 p.m. in the local time zone, it averaged 12 million. This followed the previous Friday’s Game 6 – where Fall Classic Most Valuable Player Yamamoto allowed one run in six innings – drew 13.1M viewers, making it the highest-rated Fall Classic matchup on a sole broadcaster in the country.

Overall Averages and Patterns

The full seven-match series drew 15.71 million viewers on Fox, a 2% increase from last year’s Dodgers-Yankees matchup. This represents the first time since 2015 and ‘16 that the World Series has seen audience increases for two consecutive years.

Counting the opening game telecast on Univision, the complete American average was over 16 million. The overall World Series average in the Japanese market was 9.7M and 8.1M in Canada.

The full playoffs on Fox and its sister channels drew 8.09M viewers, an 8% increase compared to last year and Fox’s best postseason performance since 2017.

Major League Baseball stated that the Fall Classic was televised in 203 nations and regions by 44 broadcasting partners in 16 various languages.
